Description
Origin
Danish has a rich and fascinating history. The puff pastry utilized in its creation was an unintentional byproduct. Claudius Gele, a French pastry trainee, was trying to prepare bread for his ailing father in 1645. Except he forgot to include the butter. To make amends, he threw some butter into the mix and worked it in by folding the dough back and forth several times. The pastry chef warned him not to bake the dough, nevertheless, he did anyway, and what resulted was the foundation for a dough that would become so airy, flaky, and beautiful that it would be experimented with all over the globe. Everyone wishes their cooking mishaps turned out as wonderfully as this.
